Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education, Lessons Learned from a Decade of Research and Practice

Hello ATESOL NT Members, I’ve received a copy of a great resource titled “Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education, Lessons Learned from a Decade of Research and Practice”. The resource is a colourful brochure that answers the questions raised at the 4th International Conference on Language and Education. It includes quotes from Jim Cummins, Prof Jo-Lo Bianco, summaries of the key benefits of bilingual education and extracts from papers with links to the publications. I think these posters would be a great resource to be displayed in school staff rooms to get the discussion about the needs of multilingual students, valuing first language and the fact that around the world multilingualism is the norm, back on the agenda.
